Easy to follow and thorough explanations

Truly one of the best lab manuals I have ever used! It thoroughly explained procedures and provided relative information to be applied in student research experiments. I used it when I was teaching assistant to the lab section and it helped me be prepared for student questions, and organize their curriculum in a logical manner, such that material learned in lecture was applied in lab.

Lab manual was missing a few pages where Questions need to be answered for some of the exercises. Had to photo copy those missing pages from another copy of the manual. Other than the missing pages, manual was in pretty good condition.

My 3 yo daughter will literally beg me to do pages of this book. It had the perfect mix of instruction, repetition and sticker fun with cute animals to keep them engaged. The repetition also makes the learning natural. Love it

Fun book to learn music theory

My 5-year old daughter loves the exercises (and stickers) in this theory! She actually begs to do as many pages as possible. It's helped her learn and cement the note types, names, and note counts. We went through this book fast, and are now going to the Level 2 book. Not sure what I'm going to do when she finishes the Level 2 book.

It is a fun book with a lot of stickers. However, the book fits for 3-5, as the back cover of this book says. On this website, the description says 3-7. I got three books (theory made easy 1&2, my first music theory book 1) for my 7-years old daughter. It is way too easy for her and i am afraid she cannot get much from it. It could be a 5-star book for 3-5 years old.

This was crazy helpful and relevant. It's really hard finding information like this that is directed at people around college and who don't have tons of money to be spending on the optimal diet. The author was really knowledgeable and helpful, but he was also super relateable as well. It seemed like he was just a friend helping you out instead of some stuckup fitness snop who's expecting you to dedicate every available dollar and resource to your fitness. Point is, this product was pretty perfect, and I really hope that the author comes out with some more material in the near future.

JEAN-LOUIS BRIAUD, PhD, is Past President of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. He is a Professor and Holder of the Spencer J. Buchanan Chair in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University and a research engineer with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Over the last thirty years, he has conducted extensive research on various aspects of geotechnical engineering and has been a consultant on numerous large-scale projects in several countries. Among other awards, he has received the ASTM C.A. Hogentogler Award, the ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize, the ASCE Martin Kapp Award, the G. Geoffrey Meyerhof Award from the Canadian Geotechnical Society, and the ASCE Ralph B. Peck Award.

I like how he using analogies to illustrate difficult principles. It's a technique I try to use myself. It's difficult to pull off, but he's done a good job of it.

Kindergarten-Grade 3. A well-told Chinese folktale, first published in 1979 (Crowell), has been reissued with a handsome new jacket and a few changes in the text. The moon goddess, White Wave, appears in the form of a moon snail to keep house for a poor farmer. When he discovers her in human form, she ascends to heaven in awesome glory, but promises to return in his hour of need. Wolkstein has added an author's note to this version, made some editorial changes, and given the farmer a name. Young's black-and-white pencil drawings, repeating the spiraling moon snail motif while poignantly evoking the farmer's loss and White Wave's majesty, come to the new edition unchanged. They are now printed on matte paper with red borders and subtle illuminations of silver and look slightly more dramatic than they did in the earlier edition. Libraries with a clean copy of the older version may not need this new one. Wolkstein (Esther's Story, 1996, etc.) revisits an exquisite Chinese folktale she first published in 1979. The poor, solitary farmer of the original tale now has a name: Kuo Ming. He finds an opalescent shell and takes it home. The next evening, his dinner is waiting for him when he returns from the fields. He wonders how this happens, and, by spying, he discovers a woman of light, the moon goddess, who lives in the shell; he knows he must not touch her. In the way of such things, he cannot resist doing so, and thus loses her, but she leaves him her name, White Wave, and a promise that she keeps. He builds a shrine to her and tells his children the tale. When he dies, the shell is lost; the shrine, in time, disappears. ``All that remained was the story.'' The changes in the text may be too subtle to justify purchasing this newly designed edition where the old one is still available; Young's spare black-and-white pencil illustrations, with their gorgeous use of negative space, are unchanged. We All Have A Story!

Not only is White Wave a story of a farmer who loses something and someone he loves, it is a perfect story for others who have lost a loved one. It makes us remember and remind ourselves we all have a story, and how we live our lives will depend on the story others will tell about us. As an elementary teacher, I have read this story aloud hundreds of times. It is still as moving to me as it was the first time it was read aloud to me and a group of adults at a reading conference more than 25 years ago.

Eric Hansen and UCSF have done a great service to residents in radiation oncology with this book. Each chapter has what they call "pearls" (need-to-know general information) followed by work up, staging and then the studies section. The studies cover the important trials for each disease site with what ends up being perhaps too little editorializing. There are treatment "guidelines" listed by stage. At the end of the book, there is an appendix filled with helpful medications and abbreviations. It's up to date and fits well in the coat pocket. It is most useful if you have a baseline knowledge of the data but even on its own, it's very helpful. Given the lack of similar available books, this is a well done much needed addition.

Highly Recommended Radiation Oncology Handbook

An extremely comprehensive handbook for radiation oncology providing an excellent overview of the individual cancer specific sites as well as references and summaries of appropriate, important and key articles. Dr. Roach and Dr. Hansen in addition to all of the contributing physicians have done an outstanding job providing a thorough yet readable handbook for radiation oncologists.

A Niiice!! There is at last a good "starter" book for students and residents (and even outside specialties) interested in radiation oncology. Other fields have had similar introductory/review books for years, but this has always been lacking in rad onc. As a first-year radiation oncology resident, this book has been invaluable, being extremely "high-yield," yet a quick read for any given topic (much more so than the baby-Perez, and certainly more up to date). Its the first thing I read for a new disease site, before a coming pimp session, or patient presentation. The key papers summarized for each topic are a great place to start when looking for more in-depth reading. The various appendixes, which cover commonly prescribed drugs to tumor markers, are also essential to have for easy access while in clinic. A "must have," certainly before investing time and cash in a major text.
