It appears the author has decided not to complete this series

I'm giving this only one star because although this came out in 2007 the next book is not yet published. I loved the four books in the series but cannot recommend it because after 9 years the rest of the series should have been done by now. I feel cheated that I wasted my time and money on a series with no conclusion.

This is a great series

I like this series - it has great characters and plenty of action, lots of world building and genuinely worth a try if this is the genre you like.

So why only 3 stars?

I give 5 stars to books I just cannot put down, you know four o'clock in the morning with an exam in five hours, but no way can I stop reading.

I give 4 stars to books I will grudgingly put down at midnight for that exam or job interview tomorrow,

I give three stars to books that I like but can put down from time to time.

The reason for this rating was the fact that throughout the book there are these editing errors of words that get mixed up. For example sow vs sew. I find that when I read that the ladies are sowing by a window, I just crack up laughing at the thought of them throwing seeds round the room. Having cracked up laughing, I need to put the book down because the train of thought has been interrupted and I don't get that obsessive need to turn the page.

It is not recommended for those who hate these sorts of errors. I don't dislike such things, but they do make me giggle to the point where the flow of the novel is interrupted at that point.

About the Author

Charles W. Fowler earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1973, has taught at five universities, and currently holds academic positions at two in addition to his position as Systemic Management Studies Program Leader at the National Marine Mammal Laboratory, Alaska Fisheries Science Center (NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service [NMFS]) in Seattle, WA. His 29 years with the NMFS includes service as chief U.S. scientist to the North Pacific Fur Seal Commission, and as scientist on the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission.

Quick read that is a sequel to You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again, the sexual tell-all of several escorts who presumably did some pretty nasty things with Hollywood's most powerful during the 1980s-90s. The tales of young women caught up in the cash, celebrity, and drugs was quite disturbing and often seemed like the author wanted to pen a cautionary tale. I ended the book feeling like I needed a hot shower to rid myself of the sordid details.

The young women in this book are all very troubled. They all have slept with some of the most important men in Hollywood. Most of the stories are quite interesting and it makes for a quick and good read.
