About the Author
About the Authors Lori Lea Spicher is Language Coordinator and a member of the Department of Modern Languages at Saint Mary's College of California. With a degree in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Texas, Lori's interests include phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition, bilingualism, and the evolution of Spanish in the southwestern United States. Frances M. Sweeney is Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and a member of the Modern Languages Department at Saint Mary's College of California. With a degree in Hispanic Applied Linguistics, Frances' interests include integrated language acquisition, student-centered learning, writing and computer-assisted instruction, and student development and the changing role of the professor in higher education. Ruben Pelayo Coutino is the Spanish Graduate Program Coordinator at Southern Connecticut State University where he teaches language and literature courses. An expert on Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Pelayo Coutino's publications encompass poststructuralist and linguistic studies, literary criticism and the merging of genres.

Good book for school

This is a great book for intermediate Spanish speakers/those who want to learn more about Spanish writing and grammar. I used it for one of the upper level Spanish classes in my university, and the activities are really helpful!

Fine as a textbook, but a little awkwardly written.

I didn't find this book particularly helpful. It has a lot of writing tips that are rather vague. It got me through my class, but I wouldn't recommend it.
